Modafin - analeptic is used for the treatment of sleepiness associated with narcolepsy.
Office for Quality Control of Food and Drug US drugs (UK), modafinil is also approved for the treatment of sleep disorders associated with shift work shifts (SWSD, Eng. Shift work sleep disorder) and sleepiness associated with obstructive sleep apnea. European Medicines Agency in the UK, however, recommends limiting new prescription of medicines containing modafinil, only cases of narcolepsy, in connection with the risk of neuropsychiatric, skin and allergic side effects. At the same time, as these side effects are often observed in the first two weeks of the drug, its use on appointments made earlier, not limited, as UK athletes say.
Popular as the use of modafinil is not for medical appointments (off-label use), as a relatively safe stimulant.
